Motivation 2.0 did thrive over the years. Folks were motivated with cash rewards to be productive. Dan H. Pink, in his book “Drive” debunks this false narrative. Extrinsic is not always the best motivator.

Carrots and sticks dun work

Carrots and sticks do not work. The old adage of motivational theories encourage them, the use of rewards to get more of the behaviour you want. Pavlov shared how he got more of the behaviour he wanted using rewards.
